As part of its purpose to support new approaches to archaeological research, ARCOOP is an active supporter of experimental archaeology projects.
ARCOOP has collaborated with dedicted primative technologists, such as Mike Frank of Occoquan Paleotechnics LLC (www.occpaleo.com), to test theories of prehistoric technology. Mike has been involved in the on-going experiment involving the use of manatee ribs as a lithic flaking tool.
