The Archaeological Research Cooperative, Inc. (ARCOOP) is a non-profit charitable corporation that facilitates research and education on prehistoric archaeology in the Americas.

The ARCOOP supports multidisciplinary research designed to contribute to archaeological knowledge and principles by tapping less traditional resources, pursuing new theoretical directions, and developing innovative technologies and techniques for archaeological research.

The ARCOOP was established in 2004 by three archaeologists who were interested in providing a means for themselves and other archaeologists to pursue their research interests outside of traditional academic and governmental organizations.

While research remains the central mission of ARCOOP, we want to expand our scope to include public education on our research, the ethical use of cultural material, and sharing the excitement of archaeological discovery with the general public.

ARCOOP is solely funded by donations.
